Tapas are typical free appetizers to accompany a drink, a widespread tradition in much of eastern Andalusia. BER2025 attendees will be able to enjoy this Granadian custom in Gonzalo Gallas street, a street full of tapas bars for the university students of the Fuentenueva campus, but also for the residents of the area.

Cocktail at "Carmen de la Victoria
Carmen de la Victoria
Cuesta del Chapiz, 9

Thursday, June 5, 2025
The Carmen de la Victoria is located on the hill of the Albayzín, in the Arab suburb of Axaris, a city limit that was already in Arab times a place of orchards, cármenes and gardens. The Cármenes are typical estates of the historic neighborhoods of Granada, heirs of the delightful orchards owned by the Granada Arabs in the outskirts of the city. Today they are domestic gardens that maintain an old tradition of pleasant retreat for their owners. Acquired by the University of Granada in 1945, it is since then the only public carmen in the city that has not lost its character of home-garden.

Visit to the Alhambra
Calle Real de la Alhambra, s/n
18009 Granada
Friday, June 6, 2025
The Alhambra was an Andalusian palatine city, Christian Royal House, General Captaincy of the Kingdom of Granada and military fortress until its declaration as a Monument in 1870. Today it is a monumental complex composed of a group of palaces (Nasrid Palaces), gardens (El Generalife) and fortresses (Alcazaba and Alhambra Gates) initially conceived to house the emir and the court of the Nasrid kingdom, and later as the residence of the kings of Castile and their representatives. The Alhambra is not only the most visited monument in Spain today, but it is also among the 10 most visited monuments in the world.
